Okaloosa offers prescription drug disposal
Okaloosa County Sheriffs’ Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are offering the public its sixth opportunity in three years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous. No questions will be asked.

Navarre’s Clint Hale attends Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic
For the last 27 years, Navarre resident Clint Hale, 64, a U.S. Air Force veteran, has joined other disabled veterans from across the country to participate in the Disabled Veterans Sports Clinic in Colorado. The clinic is open to veterans with certain disabilities such as spinal-cord injuries, amputations and the visually impairment.

Priton Homes to bring 200 jobs to county
Priton LLC, a home-manufacturing company code-named Project Breeze by the Santa Rosa Economic Development Office, officially has arrived. Priton already has hired a start-up staff of nine and plans to add 200 more jobs at its Santa Rosa Industrial Park location this year.

Council Reversed Vote on Sunday Sales
Although Milton City Councilman Wesley Meiss and others had hoped the city would set a precedent to push for more Sunday alcohol sales in the north end of Santa Rosa County, the council retreated from an April 1 executive committee vote which initially had approved allowing restaurants in the downtown tourist district to serve alcohol on Sundays.
