Candy manufacturer recalls chocolate bunny ears
A chocolate manufacturer headquartered in St. Louis issued a national recall April 9 for chocolate bunny ears. Karl Bissinger’s LLC is recalling its Dark Chocolate Bunny Ears because one lot was mislabeled and contains undeclared milk. The recall was initiated after a customer discovered milk chocolate products in the dark chocolate product packaging.

The da Vinci® S HD Surgical System has been in use at Baptist Hospital since 2007 and will now be utilized for weight-loss surgery as a compliment to the Baptist Bariatric Surgery Program.

Man sentenced to 330 years after child sex abuse conviction
A man convicted of sexual abuse against three young girls when he and his family lived in Pace was sentenced to 330 years in prison. Donzell Kevin Nuckles, 40, was sentenced by Santa Rosa Circuit Judge John L. Miller, State Attorney Bill Eddins announced Tuesday.

Milton man dies in car-pedestrian accident
A Milton man who was struck by a car while walking along County Road 191 died April 10, nearly a month after the accident happened. According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, 36-year-old Larry McKinley was walking southbound March 8 when he was hit by a car driven by 27-year-old Jennifer Campbell.

Forecasters expect “below average” hurricane season
Researchers from Colorado State University released April 10 their annual prediction for Atlantic hurricane activity, and they expect a “below average” season for 2014. The 36-page report was prepared by research scientist Philip J. Klotzbach and Professor Emeritus of Atmospheric Science William M. Gray.
