Student arrested for taking gun to school
A 16-year-old Navarre High School student was arrested April 17 for having a loaded gun at school. According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Joshua Neal Patton was arrested around 10 a.m. and charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds, a third degree felony.

Science station event embraces autism
Charlene Mauro, project director of the Marine Science Station, saw a need in the community for an event welcoming families with autism spectral disorders and started Autism OdysSea, first held in 2013. About 150 children and their families, totaling 450 people, attended the second annual event held April 12.
