Gov. Scott on tour to promote school budget, raise
SUNRISE (AP) — Gov. Rick Scott kicked off a series of visits to Florida public schools Monday to promote the approved budget that includes teacher pay raises as part of a big boost in education spending, a perennially popular issue with voters who will decide in 2014 whether the Republican merits a second term.

Special election hits polls on Tuesday
Residents of Southwest Santa Rosa County and Southeast Escambia County are reminded that the Republican Primary for Florida House District 2 special election is Tuesday, May 14. This is to replace the late Clay Ford’s seat. The primary will only be open to registered Republicans in Florida House District 2.
