Navarre resident Laura Densford Navarre arrived at her polling station Tuesday to find she was unable to vote on one of the big issues of the day: incorporating Navarre.

The Holley-Navarre Fire District recently had its Insurance Service Office Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating upgraded from a Class 5/10 to a Class 4/4Y, effective Nov 1. ISO classifies communities from 1 (the best) to 10 (the worst).

“It’s awesome,” said Santa Rosa County Supervisor of Elections Tappie Villane of voter turnout for the Nov. 4 general election primary, which was dominated by Republican voters who showed an expected outpouring of support for the Grand Old Party.

A search of a Milton home located on Hamilton Bridge Road produced over 100 grams of methamphetamine oil as well as 1 gram of “finished product” according to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office press release.
