Endangered shorebirds began their annual nesting along the Navarre Beach Causeway Bridge a few weeks ago, and a variety of efforts are now underway to keep them and their soon-to-be-hatched chicks safe from motorists.

Report a lionfish, win a T-shirt
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) unveiled a new smart device app May 28 and is encouraging its use for reporting lionfish sightings in Florida. According to FWC, the first 250 people, who successfully complete the Report Florida Lionfish app reporting form will receive a free, interactive and newly redesigned “Lionfish Control Team” T-shirt.

Former TEAM Santa Rosa counsel seeks County Attorney job
More than 20 attorneys have applied for the contract to represent the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners, including former TEAM Santa Rosa counsel Roy V. Andrews of Milton. Several of the applicants have experience in the government sector, including the Lee County Attorney and assistant county attorneys from Polk, Charlotte and Hillsborough Counties.
