Santa Rosa Correctional Institute in East Milton functions as its own community. Behind the prison’s electrified fences, one dormitory has been designated specifically for veterans. Special programs are offered inside the dorm and aimed to help veterans re-enter the outside world.

For the second year in a row Santa Rosa County School District has qualified as a Healthy School District, earning a gold level designation. Toddler drowns in pool
Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1700 block of Briza Del Mar Drive after a 1 1/2-year-old boy died as a result of drowning in a pool. The boy was transported to an area hospital but passed away.
