Navarre man charged for imitation ‘cocaine’
Edgar Newton Doubleday, 19, of the 6900 block of Jasper Street in Navarre, was arrested June 4 on multiple charges, including a third-degree felony count of manufacturing, distributing or selling imitation drugs after witnesses said he mixed BC Powder and Anbesol to sell as “cocaine.”

Official: Summit fire result of arson
The fire that destroyed a Summit Drive home June 7 was a result of arson, Kayla Anderson, spokesman with the state’s Fire Marshal’s Office, said last week. She said the department is investigating a “person of interest.”

The country abandoned it only to return in 1698. France, which settled New Orleans, began encroaching upon Pensacola, and claimed it in 1722. But the Spanish took it back.
