Police say shooting involved drugs
A drug deal nearly turned deadly Friday night, Dec. 11. Santa Rosa deputies say that Tyjuwan Jahdeil Vades Jenkins, a 17-year-old Navarre male, agreed to meet another subject at the Tom Thumb located at Laredo Street and Highway 87 south to buy marijuana. At some point during their meeting, Jenkins pointed a gun at the other male and shot him in the leg.
Home invasion suspect shot and killed
Just after 7 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 deputies responded to a home invasion call on Joyce Phillips Lane in the town of Jay. According to Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Rich Aloy, the suspect broke into the home through the front door and the resident shot the suspect.

Hale convicted on two counts of attempted murder
According to a release issued by the State Attorney Bill Eddins, Normond L. Hale was convicted by a Santa Rosa jury on Dec. 10, 2015 on two counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm and for shooting within a building.
