Hundreds of Navarre residents turned out to participate in the Veteran’s Day ceremony held at Navarre Park Nov. 11. Those present spanned all ages and generations from the formation of Boy Scouts to the World War II veteran in attendance.

Thirteen percent of 18 to 20 year olds who were involved in an automobile crash admitted they were sending or receiving text messages, according to the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute. The institute also found text messaging increased the risk for crashes by 23 percent.

Santa Rosa County Commissioners Nov. 13 are expected to delay the deadline for payment of residential beach lease fees until March 31. The board hopes by that date to know more about pending federal legislation which could completely eliminate lease fees on Santa Rosa Island.
