Medical practice offers new treatment for peripheral artery disease
Coastal Vascular & Interventional, PLLC is offering a new minimally-invasive procedure to treat peripheral artery disease (PAD) in the upper leg, a serious and common condition associated with an increased risk for heart attack and stroke. Recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration, drug-coated balloons are a new type of medical device used to treat PAD in the upper legs once medical management has failed. Leadership summit focuses on increased colon cancer screenings
The American Cancer Society hosted the first Florida Colorectal Cancer Leadership Summit on March 26. The event brought together colorectal cancer medical experts and more than 100 health care system leaders from around the state to address the state of colorectal cancer and implement strategies for increasing screenings rates to 80 percent by 2018. Summit participants pledged their support to increase colorectal screening rates by ceremonially signing a special banner during the event.
