ARLINGTON, Va. (AFNS) — As part of its ongoing modernization efforts, the Department of the Air Force chief information officer, in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory, is accelerating initiatives to provide Guardians, Airmen, civilian employees, and contractors the ability to responsibly experiment with Generative AI, with adequate safeguards in place.

Recognizing that water is one of our most precious resources, the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) asks all Floridians to consider and appreciate the “bigger picture” of this life-giving liquid during National Oceans Month and National Rivers Month, which take place each June.

The Santa Rosa County Board of Commissioners, the city of Milton and NAS Whiting Field signed an intergovernmental agreement on June 13 that will allow the two local governments to provides services to the military.

There was a significant shake-up in Santa Rosa District Schools in June.

At the June 13 school board meeting, the district appointed seven people to new positions at schools throughout the district, including four principals at Holley Navarre Primary School, Avalon Middle School, East Milton Elementary School and Gulf Breeze Elementary School.

A Gulf Breeze plastic surgeon has been arrested and charged with second degree felony homicide; manslaughter by culpable negligence after the death of his wife during a November 2023 procedure that he performed.

One in 11.5 million. That’s the odds of being attacked by a shark, according to the Florida Museum, a state natural history museum.

While the odds are low, shark attacks still do occur, as Northwest Floridia residents saw Friday, June 7 in the Gulf of Mexico off Walton County. Three people (one woman and two teens) were injured when a shark bit them. It is not known if it was the same shark or if multiple sharks were involved.

Qualifying has ended for local elections in Santa Rosa County, and the good news is that voters will have plenty of choices at the ballot box. The bad news is that registered voters are going to have plenty of homework to do in order to get to know all these candidates.

For the past couple of years, Woodbine Church’s men have been coming together to help teach boys ages 8 to 18 outdoor skills and Bible lessons. The men and boys are a part of Kids Outdoor Zone, a ministry with chapters in numerous churches and communities around the United States.

A fiery crash resulted in one death and several injuries on Interstate 10 Thursday afternoon on the Escambia Bay Bridge.

A pursuit down Interstate 10 and onto Scenic Highway, with speeds reaching 150 miles per hour, ended with an arrest in Baldwin County, Alabama.
