Madison, Wis. — Alarms no longer go off when a resident shifts in bed or rises from a wheelchair at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge in Madison. Nurses no longer place fall mats next to beds or lower beds to the floor when residents sleep.

Animal shelter issues urgent plea
Santa Rosa County’s animal shelter has issued an urgent plea for help from the community. With a number of litters of dogs and cats being surrendered to the shelter all of the kennels are full. There is no more room. Their list of needs includes volunteers, adopters and food donations.
