Okaloosa County Operation Wolf Hunter nets 16 arrests

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 16 individuals following an undercover cyber-sex sting operation named Operation Wolf Hunter.  The sting was conducted in conjunction with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, several state law enforcement agencies, and the US Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force, all members of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Settlement reached with UPS over package delivery practices

Tallahassee Fla.—Attorney General Pam Bondi today announced a $4 million multistate settlement with United Parcel Service, Inc., the world’s largest package delivery company, resolving allegations that its employees violated the false claims acts of 14 states, Chicago, New York City, and the District of Columbia by overcharging governmental customers on certain transactions.

Undercover Okaloosa deputy nabs Gulf Breeze sex offender

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jacob James Brenner, a registered sex offender, Wednesday Oct. 21 on charges of obscene communication, computer pornography, and using a computer service to seduce or solicit a child.

Military Road paved the way for U.S. Highway 98

Every Navarre citizen has driven on U.S. Highway 98 at one time or another. Its traffic in recent times due to construction has been a source of frustration; but its existence provides convenient transportation for everyone. More importantly, Highway 98 is a vital artery of revenue for Navarre and the surrounding cities. Each year, Highway 98 brings millions of dollars in business, tourist revenue, goods and services to Navarre. Without this highway, the development of Navarre would hardly have progressed to the state that it exists in to this day. While the actual Highway 98 came into existence in the 1930s, this important route along the coast of Northwest Florida may have been around much longer.

Pilots in deadly Black Hawk crash disobeyed orders
