A Pensacola woman has been sentenced to 12 years in state prison on charges of DUI manslaughter for her role in the death of another driver on State Road 87.

The Holley-Navarre Fire District responded to an early morning Wednesday in the 8900 block of Orlando Avenue.

The call came in about 3 a.m., with the caller advising that the house was filled with smoke and the fire was coming from the area of a gas grill on the lanai in the rear of the residence. Everyone was out of the house, the caller said.

Santa Rosa County officials got the green light but not the funding last week to upgrade the traffic lights at the intersections of U.S. Highway 98 and Navarre Beach Causeway and U.S. 98 and State Road 87.
