The first Sunday in January, the Gulf Breeze Community Center rolled out Trivia Trek, a fun way to exercise and test your knowledge. The center is located at 800 Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze. The concept was developed locally by Cissi Milford of 3SIXTY Studio in partnership with the City of Gulf Breeze.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says six “smash and grab” vehicle burglaries took place in South Santa Rosa County between Friday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 20.  All burglaries were in parking lots of area businesses.  Most of them occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

In a tragic case of alleged child neglect with great bodily harm, a 3-year-old boy living in the 8000 block of Mercado Street in Navarre has died after spending several hours in a car in the driveway.  Montana Rain Jackson, a 19-year-old caregiver to the boy, has been arrested.  The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says that additional charges are expected.

Navarre Beach residents have long complained about being required to pay both Santa Rosa County ad valorem taxes along with their property lease fees. But some haven’t paid the latter for years.

A Navarre woman was arrested Thursday morning, July 21, in connection with a “selfie war” involving photos of the woman with unconscious patients of Okaloosa County EMS.

In a press release issued by the State Attorney’s Office, Bill Eddins announced that Daniel Ferry Lee, III, 31, of Cantonment entered a plea of guilty to robbery and fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement at high speed. He was sentenced to 15 years in state prison as a Prison Releasee Reoffender.

Never mind, maybe for several months, perhaps not until 2017.

After five years of building and preparation, The Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center’s (NBSTCC) newest resident, Gigi the adult female loggerhead sea turtle, moved into her new 15,000 gallon tank Wednesday, July 20.
