The Santa Rosa County District Schools encourage the public to “stuff the bus” on July 22 to ensure that students in Santa Rosa County are equipped with the tools they need to succeed in the upcoming school year.
After Col. Randy Tifft of the Santa Rosa Sherriff’s Office presented a need for more staffing to keep the citizens of the county safe, the Board of County Commissioners voted to agreed to approve Sheriff Bob Johnson’s budget request in its entirety.
The Pensacola Bay Bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction Wednesday, July 21, and Friday July 23 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The lane restrictions will begin at the bridge approach in Gulf Breeze and extend for approximately 3,500-feet.

A prospective aviation technical school, housed in the former Santa Rosa hospital off Stewart Street, is in the works between Santa Rosa County, the City of Milton and, possibly, the school district.
