Florida Highway Patrol asks for help finding damaged hit and run vehicle
The Florida Highway Patrol is asking the public to be on the lookout for a 4-door dark gray sedan, possibly a Honda Accord. This vehicle will have front end right fender damage and damage to the front passenger wheel.
The vehicle was involved in an accident Monday, Nov. 15, at 6:04 p.m. on Chumuckla Highway near its intersection with U.S. Highway 90. A Milton woman was injured in the accident.

Adams Sanitation sues county for second time this year
Adams Sanitation has filed a lawsuit in Santa Rosa Circuit Court against Santa Rosa County for the second time this year. This lawsuit, filed Nov. 12, alleges that the county broke the open records laws by failing to produce requested documents.
Midway Water sends report to DEP
Now that Midway Water System and the City of Gulf Breeze have sent reports to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, both organizations – as well as residents affected by the recent contamination of water lines – are waiting for the state agency to assign responsibility.
Update: Fire district reverses vote on $2.4 million grant, turns it down
Less than two months after voting to accept $2.4 million in FEMA funding, the Holley-Navarre Fire District commissioners decided to turn the grant down.
New nonstop flight added from New York to Pensacola
Delta Air Lines has announced it will begin daily, nonstop service from Pensacola International Airport to LaGuardia Airport on Dec. 18, 2021. The Atlanta-based carrier says the service is scheduled to run through May 4, 2022.
UPDATE: Sheriff’s Office working possible homicide at Navarre Beach condo
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives are currently working a death investigation. A body was located at the Pearl of Navarre Condominiums. This information was called in at approximately 5:00 pm. Sunday.
Chief: ‘It’s definitely going to save lives’
As of 9 a.m. Monday morning, the Navarre Beach Fire Rescue joins a small group of departments in the county to be ALS-certified.
Eglin gets grant for new facility
Eglin Air Force Base will now have $10,440,000, courtesy of the U.S. Army. These funds will go to the construction of a Munitions Research Development, Test and Evaluation explosive operating facility, according to Rep. Matt Gaetz’s emailed newsletter.
The grant announcement was made Nov. 10. Completion of the facility is anticipated for May 2023.
Boil water notice lifted after nearly a month
The boil water notice previously issued by Midway Water System for the area between 4115 Soundside Drive and 5012 Soundside Drive, including Natures Cove and The Waters subdivisions and adjacent streets, was rescinded Friday.
It has been in place since Oct. 18, when a contractor error was discovered that mixed the contents of a sewer pipe with a water line for that area.
