Vaccinations up in county; so are the number of COVID cases
The number of people vaccinated for COVID-19 nearly doubled last week, with 1,843 people receiving vaccinations compared to 938 the week before. About 45% of the population is now vaccinated.
But the number of cases and hospitalizations also increased dramatically too. Santa Rosa now has the fourth highest positivity rate in the state at 27.6. That means more than a quarter of the people being tested are positive for the virus.

A 56-year-old Navarre man was killed Friday morning in a head-on collision on State Road 87 on the Yellow River Bridge.
The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was driving a dark-colored Honda sedan north in the southbound lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol media release.
