State Senator Doug Broxson (District 1), State Representatives Michelle Salzman (District 1), Alex Andrade (District 2), Jayer Williamson (District 3), and Patt Maney (District 4) join in support of a state lawsuit regarding the federal vaccine mandate for employees of government contractors.
The 823rd RED HORSE squadron is conducting monthly training Oct. 28 consisting of approximately six detonations. The detonations may cause residents to hear or feel the vibrations from these charges. The charges will continue throughout the day.
The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County (DOH-Santa Rosa is reminding residents and visitors to use caution when on the beach or in waters with high concentrations of red tide. Low levels of red tide have been detected in sampling conducted from Navarre Beach Pier.
Updated: The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory along the entire coast overnight into Thursday. The highest surf is expected along the western Florida panhandle. High surf conditions are expected to persist through Friday afternoon before subsiding Friday night. A high risk of rip currents begins tonight and will persist through Friday night.
Midway Water System released a statement this morning regarding the cross-connection incident which caused unsafe potable water conditions for hundreds of residents in the Soundside Drive area. The incident has been ongoing for nearly two weeks and is still being rectified.
After District 3 Commissioner James Calkins provided ideas to improve the Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) taskforce during the Oct. 12 commission meeting, an LMS presentation to the commissioners on Oct. 21 provided a brief recap of LMS’s purpose and its taskforce’s contribution to the county.
