Reaper makes debut at Emerald Warrior
The Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) began conducting Emerald Warrior, a joint training exercise in 2006. For the first time, the MQ-9 Reaper took part in the exercise at Hurlburt Field. It is an unmanned remotely piloted aircraft with a top speed of 300 mph and a range of more than 1,100 miles.
Medical Group Major receives Bronze Star
Maj. Kimberly Broughton of the 96th Medical Group was awarded the Bronze Star April 24 at Eglin Air Force Base. She was honored for meritorious service as the sole orthopedic surgeon while deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

An Army soldier opened fire April 2 at Fort Hood in Texas killing three soldiers and wounding 16 others. The shooting did not result in changes to the threat levels at local military installations.
