Troubled by delays in handling veterans claims, a bipartisan group of senators last week urged a wide-scale, independent review of the Department of Veterans Affairs for mismanagement and changes to improve budgeting and speed up applications.

In honor of National Military Appreciation Month, USO Northwest Florida is rallying the community to help make “A Million Moments in May” through the USO’s Every Moment Counts campaign. 

The Air Force recently signed an addendum to the Eglin Base Realignment and Closure 2014 record of decision for two temporary actions – shifting the primary runway to Runway 01/19 and allowing a temporary increase in previously limited F-35 operations for the construction-related closure of Runway 12/30, and the Department of the Navy’s proposal to add 15 backup aircraft inventory (BAI) F-35C aircraft at Eglin AFB.    

The 1st Special Operations Maintenance Group at Hurlburt Field exemplified Air Force superior performance by earning top-maintenance honors in the 2014 Clements McMullen Memorial Daedalian Weapon System Maintenance Squadron Trophy.
