Meal to tell story of redemption
Local residents and visitors from as far away as Texas will be in Fort Walton Beach April 14 for the Emerald Coast Regional Seder. “In its simplest form, a Seder is a meal that tells a story,” said event organizer Claire Ogle. “Typically a Seder or Passover feast is conducted around a family table and is used to teach the story of how God delivered the nation of Israel from slavery in Egypt.”

Rubio, Miller side with Hobby Lobby
Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Congressman Jeff Miller are two of a group of 88 members of Congress who filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court supporting Hobby Lobby in its efforts to gain exemption from some parts of the federal healthcare law that its owners say violate their religious beliefs. An amicus brief is a brief filed with a court by a person or persons not subject to the action.

When doesn’t ‘a day’ mean ‘a day?’
According to Dr. Tommy Mitchell from Answers in Genesis, the meaning of the Hebrew word “yom” or “day” is most hotly debated when it comes to its use in Genesis 1 during the Bible’s account of creation. Mitchell is a full-time speaker for Answers in Genesis, the nation’s leading Christian ministry advocating the biblical account of creation, and presented a two-day conference March 23 and 24 hosted by Midway Baptist Church.

Christian music isn’t what it used to be
Two award-winning Christian rock bands – Third Day and Skillet – headline a tour March 28 at Pensacola Bay Center. Both bands released their first projects in 1996 and have collected numerous awards and sold millions of albums since then even though their musical styles are quite different.
