Holley Navarre Intermediate School (HNIS) teacher Danielle Clark was named Teacher of the Year for Santa Rosa County, becoming the first teacher to do so for the school. Clark had taught at HNIS for 10 years at the time and had even attended the school as an elementary student. Principal Liz West said Clark received the award because of her leadership, mentorship and heart for students and colleagues.

Nearly 160 students competed for top honors Dec. 11 at West Navarre Intermediate School’s fourth- and fifth-grade gingerbread architecture competition hosted by the American Institute of Architects, Northwest Florida, and sponsored by J2 Environmental, Engineering and Construction Services. 

Performing at Downtown Disney isn’t anything new for the Navarre High School Chorus, but that doesn’t make the trip any less magical.

After 10 negotiation sessions, representatives from Santa Rosa Professional Educators (SRPE), the county’s teachers’ union, and Santa Rosa County Board officials have finally made some progress toward renewing a three-year teachers’ contract.

Santa Rosa Education Foundation (SREF) will award 55 teacher grants totaling $55,000 to Santa Rosa public educators.
