A 36-year-old woman was sentenced to 25 years in prison followed by 15 years of sex offender probation for having sex with a 14-year-old boy in Navarre in 2013. Santa Rosa Circuit Judge John Simon sentenced Susanne Daubert Rheam of Pensacola April 16.

A local woman, 41-year-old Toni Phelps, was sentenced April 16 to 12 months behind bars and 10 years probation  for crimes resulting in the death of three dogs and three cats in her Navarre home in 2012. According to State Attorney Bill Eddins, Phelps entered a plea Feb. 17, 2014, to six counts of Animal Cruelty, six counts of Depriving an Animal of Food or Water and Public Nuisance.

Santa Rosa Circuit Court Judge John L. Miller April 15 sentenced 29-year-old Devon Deshane Washington of Milton to 20 years in prison from charges stemming from a June 2013 burglary.

Circuit Judge John Simon April 16 sentenced 38-year-old Ryan Foy Carter of Gulf Breeze to 10 years in prison followed by 10 years of probation for one count of leaving the scene of a crash involving a death. According to State Attorney Bill Eddins office, Carter pleaded no contest to the charge Feb. 10, 2014.

A 16-year-old Navarre High School student was arrested April 17 for having a loaded gun at school. According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Joshua Neal Patton was arrested around 10 a.m. and charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds, a third degree felony.

A man convicted of sexual abuse against three young girls when he and his family lived in Pace was sentenced to 330 years in prison. Donzell Kevin Nuckles, 40, was sentenced by Santa Rosa Circuit Judge John L. Miller, State Attorney Bill Eddins announced Tuesday.

The Florida Supreme Court April 10 in a unanimous decision upheld both the convictions and sentences imposed on 41-year-old Leonard Patrick Gonzalez, Jr. in connection with the 2009 home invasion and murder of Byrd and Melanie Billings in their Escambia County home.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Tammie Lynette Gutierrez at her Milton residence April 1 and charged her with one count of possession or distribution of a listed chemical having reasonable cause to believe the chemical will be used to unlawfully manufacture a controlled substance.

Brandon Cade Gillreath was sentenced to the Department of Corrections to serve four consecutive 30-year sentences upon completion of his previously imposed 30 year federal sentence. According to a news release from State Attorney Williams Eddins, the sentence arose from Gillreath pleading guilty April 3 to four counts of attempted sexual battery with a victim less than 12-years-old. Circuit Judge William Stone also designated Gillreath a Sexual Predator during the sentencing.

A Navarre Girl Scout troop leader charged with grand theft and fraud is scheduled to appear in court April 17 for a criminal arraignment. Circuit Court Judge John F. Miller, Jr., will preside over the hearing for 39-year-old Sherrie Meier of Navarre.
