The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a scam in which the perpetrator pretends to be a law enforcement officer.

Police are investigating a homicide after deputies discovered the body of a Milton man during a welfare check Thursday night.

Police were called March 25 the Gulf Breeze Post Office in reference to a suspicious package. A K-9 unit alerted on the package, which contained roughly 48 pounds of marijuana.

Police arrested a Louisiana man wanted in New Orleans for a double homicide after responding to a reported break-in in Milton on March 5.
