In the early morning hours of Jan. 30, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an Avalon Boulevard Circle K regarding a suspicious person who was seen walking up to the front door of the establishment wearing a hood and mask but never made entry into the building.  The suspect left in a pickup truck before deputies arrived.

The Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating two armed robberies, one occurred in Navarre and the other in Milton, both along State Road 87.  As of press time, investigators were still investigating with no new updates.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Palomino Street address in Milton at around 7 a.m. in reference to a medical emergency on Wednesday, Jan. 20.  When they arrived, deputies discovered Brandy Christine Maples, 29, of Milton was deceased.  Maples had suffered trauma to the head that was indicative of foul play.

Two Georgia residents suspected of shopping with credit card numbers stolen from members of Eglin Federal Credit Union are behind bars after an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigator working the crimes spotted them in a parking lot.

Christopher Lindsay, the man accused of murdering Gulf Breeze resident Lorie Musil on Nov. 20, entered a written plea of ‘not guilty’ at his arraignment Monday, Jan. 11.

According to State Attorney Bill Eddins’ office, Shawn Thomas Stuller, 27, of Gulf Breeze was sentenced to 20 years in state prison as a habitual felony offender.

Bradley Savage, age 25 of Navarre, was arrested for Battery on a law enforcement officer and Resisting an officer with violence during a house party investigation on Jan. 2.

Keanu Medina of Navarre was sentenced to 10.38 years in a Florida Department of Corrections prison facility.  According to information provided by State Attorney Bill Eddins’ office, the first four years are a minimum-mandatory sentence.  Following his release from prison, Medina was ordered to serve four years of probation.  His driver’s license was suspended for life.

In a disturbing report by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, 59-year-old Michael Joseph Hellen of Fort Walton Beach has been charged with molesting a teenage girl younger than 16 but older than 12.
