Messerschmidt, 36, of Laurel Hill, Florida, was arraigned Monday in the U.S. District Court in Pensacola after a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging him with the production and possession of child pornography. The indictment was announced by Christopher P. Canova, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

The State Attorney’s Office announced that Amber Nicole Cooley, 24, and Kyle Joseph Cooley, 27, were sentenced on Aug. 11 and 12 to 10 years in state prison for charges that arose when a 3- year-old child ingested ingredients used by the couple to manufacture methamphetamine in their home.  The 10-year sentence is a minimum mandatory sentence, requiring that the couple serve the entire sentence without receiving gain time.

Tanga J. Tarnower, 73, of Navarre, Florida, was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day in prison and ordered to pay $132,957.70 in restitution to the Social Security Administration after pleading guilty in April 2016 to theft of government money.  The sentence was announced today by Christopher P. Canova, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says six “smash and grab” vehicle burglaries took place in South Santa Rosa County between Friday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 20.  All burglaries were in parking lots of area businesses.  Most of them occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
