A vacation to Gulf Breeze went terribly wrong for a 17 year old boy after a 46 year old woman he and his mother were traveling with forced him to have sex with her in a port-o-potty.

Paddle boards stolen and pawned

Seth Harrigan, owner of Seth’s Beach Services, was arrested Dec. 28, and released Dec. 30 on $5,000 bond. He was charged with fraud and larceny.

Jones sentenced to 33 years

Monica Nicole-Gonzalez Jones was sentenced by Circuit Judge Ross Goodman to a total of 33 years in state prison.  Twenty-eight years of that sentence must be served as a minimum mandatory sentence.  Jones will be required to serve 28 years day for day with no gain time. Judge Goodman also ordered Jones to pay a $550,000 fine.

Woman stabs mother over collard greens

Kendra Sue Cohens, 41, of Nina Street in Navarre was arrested Dec. 27, and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Deputies responded to a home in the 2100 block of Nina Street for reports of a cutting. And according to the arrest report, when the deputy entered the home she found Cohens’ mother, age 58, on the kitchen floor with a large amount of blood on the floor beside her head.

A Gulf Breeze attorney faces a possible 210 year prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to 13 felony counts of bank fraud, embezzlement and money laundering last week according to a press release by the office of the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

Brothers sentenced in pharmacy robberies

Several agencies came together to find the men who held up a Milton CVS at gunpoint, tied up the employees and took prescription drugs from the business in 2014. It was suspected the same men were responsible in four Escambia County robbery cases, two of which were at the same CVS Pharmacy on 9th Avenue, with the same method of operation, in the same year.

A Navarre man found himself staring down the barrel of a 12 gage shotgun after he tried to steal another man’s truck, according to a Santa Rosa Sheriff’s deputy.

Man arrested on sexual assault of a child

Former Navarre resident Joseph Michael Mullikin, 30, is accused of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 12 nearly 16 months ago, according to Sheriff’s reports.  Officials say he was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 22, held on $1 million bond in the Santa Rosa County Jail.

Car burglaries up in Navarre
