The Columbiettes of St. Sylvester recently presented Ellen Dermody Stanley a T-shirt quilt made with the Flag Day 5k T-Shirts starting with the first year 2011 for her service as chairperson. The quilt was made by Run with It Quilts in Pensacola.

The Holley-Navarre Senior Center has two key fundraisers coming up, hosting its fish fry in September and its heath and craft fair in October.
Raider band camp brings marching band out of hibernation
After taking a year and a half hiatus, marching band is back, and the Navarre High School Raider Band is ready to march on the field again. Last year, the band was only allowed to have a pep band during football season.
“No one was allowed to march, so we just played in the stands,” Navarre High School band director Dean Barrow said.
Local campers reel up some fun at Guy Harvey Fishing Camp
The Navarre Beach Marine Science Station partnered with the Guy Harvey Foundation and Florida Youth Conservation Commission to put on a five-day fishing camp at the end of June where local children learned to fish, some for the first time.
Twenty-one campers came out for the fishing camp on Navarre Beach where children learned about fish biology and conservation, as well as fishing tackle, methods and techniques.

Grandfather runs 5K with 31-year-old grandson
Navarre’s Leo Weeks had the privilege of running the 5K Road Race in Fort Walton Beach last weekend with his grandson, Army Warrant Officer 1 Richard Weeks, who was in town visiting. At 83 and 31, they believe they were the only grandfather/grandson runners in the event.
Grandmother creates library in honor of teen
Outside the Holley by the Sea home of Cheryl Martinez sits a box that houses a little free library.
It was built in memory of her granddaughter, 14-year-old Skye Farej, who was killed in a Gulf Breeze house fire in 2018.
