For the seventh year in a row, the Robledal/Oakhaven subdivisions held an Independence Day weekend neighborhood parade. More than 100 neighbors dressed in red, white and blue as families, friends and dogs walked, rode bikes, drove golf carts, classic cars, and even a tractor down Avenida de Galvez off Highway 399. The July 3 parade ended with an after-party picnic at the Crab pavilion, the neighborhood hang out by East River.

The Santa Rosa County Animal Services has 15 dogs who need heartworm medication to recover. Five are already in treatment, while 10 more are waiting on the necessary medication.

The ribbon cutting for the Benny Russell Park expansion was postponed due to inclement weather. It has been rescheduled for July 7 at 9 a.m.
