Pirates On The Panhandle, Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge and Ye Olde Brothers Brewery have been working together to build a memorial garden in honor of Jan Foster and Larry Rolison, who both passed away in recent years.

The Annual Navarre Community Christmas Parade – Presented by: Prime Lending will start at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Navarre Library and will roll south along Presidio, making a left at Esplanade Street and ending in the back parking lot of Centennial Bank.

Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center has been helping conserve, educate, and research for the better part of two decades. As part of their mission to educate the public about marine animals and other wildlife, NBSTCC has programs and encounters for visitors to get up close and personal with the animals at the center. There are three main programs the Center offers.

Holley Navarre Intermediate School hosted this year’s Caring and Sharing food drive this year. The event took place Nov. 19 at the school.

On Friday November 18, a group of 60 candidates took part in a Naturalization Ceremony as they became American citizens.

Kim Wiggins’ grandfather was a long-time school superintendent in Escambia County. Her grandmother taught Kindergarten. Her dad and aunt were also teachers at one time. But Wiggins had visions of doing anything but get into the education field.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11367 and other veteran’s organizations presented a Veteran’s Day ceremony at Navarre Park on Nov. 11.

Navarre’s Navy JROTC program punched a ticket to the regional with a second- place overall finish at the Tulane Drill Meet last Saturday in New Orleans.

It was the first overnight meet of the year for the Raider battalion and Navarre was one of six schools competing at the meet. A total of 44 cadets attended the meet for the Raiders.

The past couple of years have seen a record breaking amount of people coming through the Pensacola International Airport (PNS). At the end of September, the 2022 numbers came in. Approximately 2.4 million passengers went through PNS during the past fiscal year, which runs from Oct. 1 to Oct. 1 each year.

We all know the familiar sound of a firetruck. The sirens blaring, the horn coming in every time a car is in the way or when passing through an intersection. The firefighters of Holley Navarre Fire District say they have been hearing that sound more and more, and with 53 square miles to cover, it can be difficult to manage.

In response to the increase in needs of the community and of the fire district, HNFD is looking to increase their revenue via referendum. On the Nov. 8 ballot, voters have a decision to make: should HNFD levy ad valorem taxes instead of non-ad valorem taxes?
