Chevy Whitehead, a 12-year-old student at Holley-Navarre Middle School (HNMS), was announced as a Arts4All December 2021 Student of the Month and awarded a personalized trophy with his sculpture attached to the base Feb. 1.

Chevy’s art has helped him to express himself over the course of the last two years. Chevy is on the spectrum and is minimally verbal. He can often struggle to answer questions and get his point across. Not only does Chevy speak through his art, but art has taught him how to communicate better.

Michael Carter made the day of a classroom of third graders two weeks ago. dropping by Holley Navarre Intermediate to read a book to students.

Now in the NFL as a running back with the New York Jets, Carter went to HNIS in fifth grade and he called his visit to the school ‘a trip down memory lane’ and loved hanging out with the students.

Donna Woodward, who moved to Navarre in 1993, was on a trip with a friend when a colorful rock caught her eye.

Navarre’s Navy Junior ROTC cadets took part in their annual Area Manager’s Inspection last Wednesday morning.

Cadets went through a personnel inspection inside the gym before wrapping the day up at Bennett C. Russell Stadium with armed and unarmed drill exhibitions.
