To those who’ve never tried it, offshore kayak fishing seems to be a recreational activity or competitive sport. For those who have, it’s something much more.

What looks like a day trip of paddling and fishing for veterans who are wounded, injured, or recently returning from combat is in fact something much deeper and long-lasting.  

Dozens of badge-clad Girl Scouts held on to pots of colorful flowers to bring some cheer to senior citizens last week. The girls hand-delivered potted plants last Wednesday and visited with the residents at Bay Breeze Nursing and Retirement Center.
