Pensacola Beach Airshow to roar this weekend
Despite the Blue Angles being grounded, the show will go on through the skies over Pensacola Beach this weekend. The Pensacola Beach Airshow, that is. This year’s event will feature more than 20 civilian aircraft, but not the Blue Angels, performing awe-inspiring maneuvers beginning at 1 p.m. and lasting until 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, according to Buck Lee, Santa Rosa Island Authority Executive Director.

“I was born in Elmwood, Ohio,” Donald Hickman, 80, said. “It was a small community with 13 bars, 13 churches, about 3,500 people, and I quit school and joined the Navy in 1950,” he chuckled.

Gulf Breeze’s “Rec” transformed into Community Center
