Blue Angels 2014 Homecoming show extended
PENSACOLA – The Blue Angels’ homecoming show next November over the skies of Pensacola and Pensacola Beach will be a day longer, the Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron announced last week.
Elk’s Lodge hosts annual Turkey Shoot and festival
The local chapter of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks hosted its annual turkey shoot and festival on Sunday at the lodge. In addition to having fun, the purpose of the event was to help families in need during the holiday season and celebrate the club’s efforts in providing occupational therapy to the children of Northwest Florida.

Exception made for dirt pit
Commissioners took action Nov. 14 to allow developer James A. “Jim” Young, Jr. to construct a borrow pit on property located within the county’s expanded well field protection area. The commission had adopted an ordinance Mar. 7, expanding the area to provide further protection of the local water supply, including a ban on resource extraction, such as dirt removal.
