Teachers at West Navarre Primary School are now more tech-savvy than ever. Each teacher received an iPad last Thursday thanks to donations from Tom Vatter of Kool Breeze of Northwest Florida and the school’s Parent Teacher Organization.

Gulf Breeze City Council members held a workshop Wednesday night to hear plans on how they could make the Tiger Point Golf Club more profitable. This project could mean rebuilding and expanding the west course, renovating the clubhouse and relocating the club’s golf shop.

Navarre Beach will once again be chillin’ out to ring in the new year as the 5th Annual Penguin Plunge is will dive in January 1 at Juana’s Pagodas.

Things are just about where the Holley-Navarre Water System thought they would be about a year after purchasing the Club at Hidden Creek.

Debra Gunnoe has pre-filed for the 2014 District 3-School Board election and is looking to stop federal intrusion into the Navarre school systems and bring her belief in the U.S. Constitution to the school board.

“A boy will do a boy’s job, two boys will do half a boys job, three boys don’t do anything at all,” said Michael Hantus.

Incorporated in September 1963, the Midway Fire District has been serving Gulf Breeze residents for more than 50 years. But the district has come a long way from its humble beginnings when it first started out as a volunteer fire department that did not have a permanent station until the 1970s.

The dedication ceremony for the June Ates Arena was held last at the new 68,000-square-foot facility located at East Milton Park.  The $1.23 million facility was built using District 2 recreation funds.

The week before Thanksgiving, a 57-year-old Pace man suffered a heart attack.  Shortly after his wife called 911 and started cardio pulmonary resuscitation, two Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies quickly responded and arrived on scene with life-saving equipment.  Those officers sprang into action and are being credited with saving his life.

These aren’t your ordinary gingerbread houses. Fifth grade students at West Navarre Intermediate School presented their unique creations last Thursday night for the second annual Gingerbread House Contest hosted by thee Northwest Florida Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
