The sounds of people, especially children playing, once again reverberate around Swenson Park.

On Monday, Nov. 6, the park, which has been around since the 1960s, celebrated its reopening. Earlier this year, construction began on the park as part of a grant project to update facilities and bring in a new playground.

Gulf Breeze – Gulf Breeze Will Do, a women’s philanthropic group, awarded $37,000 in grants at its annual meeting on Nov. 5.

Juana’s Pagodas and Sailors Grill welcomed White Tie Rock Ensemble to their new sound side stage Nov. 2 to perform their “Yacht Rock” show. Owner of Juana’s, Kevin Rudzki was pleased with how well the concert was supported by the community.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office recently elevated Sgt. Chrystal Bozard to the role of supervisor of the K9 Unit. It marked the first time a woman has held the role, something Bozard doesn’t take lightly.

“I am blessed to be here, it was always my goal to get back into the unit,” Bozard said. “Its always harder for women in this career field because there’s not as many but I feel extremely blessed.”

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz was joined by his father, Former State Sen. Don Gaetz, at a rally at Navarre Park Monday, Oct. 30.

Despite the lack of a Navarre Pass, Navarre Beach has a significant boating culture. One part of the boating scene along Navarre’s coast is the Navarre Beach Yacht Club. Founded in 1991, Navarre Beach Yacht Club has been a group of, by and for boaters and boating enthusiasts throughout the years. According to their website, the Navarre Beach Yacht Club’s purpose is to “provide a venue for fun and enjoyment of the members allowing captains to share their boating enthusiasm with people of like-minded attitudes… and latitudes.”

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is holding a campaign rally in Navarre Oct. 30. According to Gaetz’s Office, the rally will be held at Navarre Park by the Santa Rosa County Visitor Center.

The Pensacola Beach Veterans Day Parade will be Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 2 p.m.  A program honoring veterans will be conducted at the Casino Beach Pavilion immediately after the parade. The Veterans Day Parade is sponsored by Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge # 497.
