Sports Ability Games offer athletic opportunities to special needs students
Students from 16 schools in Santa Rosa County descended upon Pace High School’s football field for the inaugural north end edition of the Zack Butler Memorial Sports Ability Games Thursday, April 3.
Named for a physical education teacher and coach who lost his battle with cancer in 2022, the Sports Ability Games are designed to expand the field of opportunity for special needs students in athletics.

Navarre High Theatre leaves it all on the stage for spring musical ‘Footloose’
Under the direction of Jan Savage, the Navarre High Theatre Department received a standing ovation for their spring production, “Footloose the Musical” April 4 and 5. After months of rehearsals, practicing lines, choreography, body language and portraying emotion, the cast gave it their all last weekend and put on a superb production both nights.
Many seniors plan to chase their dreams of careers in acting and music after graduation.

Manna Food Pantries raises nearly $69K through ‘Clover Pick A Bowl Fill A Bowl’ event
The 2025 Clover Pick A Bowl Fill A Bowl raised nearly $69,000 for Manna Food Bank thanks to the generosity of several local sponsors, artists, restaurants/food vendors, donors and event attendees. Money raised from the event will provide the equivalent of 41,400 healthy meals for hungry neighbors in need in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
