The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) has investigated six reports of Formosan termites in Santa Rosa County during the first quarter of 2014. If the trend continues, the number of Formosan termite infestations would be 10 higher than last year’s total of 14.
Five three-man teams of divers – three Army and two Navy – hit the Santa Rosa Sound in Navarre at about 8 a.m. Saturday heading off on a 25k race to raise money for the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Santa Rosa Kids’ House, which provides services for abused children, is holding related awareness activities. Last year there were more than 1,500 reports of child abuse in Santa Rosa County, and the group hopes to curb that number through prevention efforts.
