St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church honored its veterans Sunday morning during a special presentation.

Last weekend’s final airshow of the Blue Angels’ 2014 season had special meaning. Not only did a record-breaking crowd welcome the precision flight squadron back to their home base of NAS Pensacola, following cancellation of most of the team’s 2013 schedule due to sequestration cuts, but the event also served to recognize that installation’s centennial anniversary.

The play that spawned the beloved “A Spoonful of Sugar” is coming to Pensacola later this month thanks to the drama club at Gulf Breeze High School.

The Santa Rosa County Fair Association is hosting a 5K run Nov. 15. The event is aimed to raise money for the Santa Rosa Veterans Foundation (SRVF), which supports the Vets to VA program and other local veteran services.
