11 nonstop flight locations coming to Destin airport
Airline company Allegiant announced Wednesday new nonstop service from 11 cities the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS). The expansion includes locations such as Pittsburg, Washington D.C. and Austin. This marks the largest single expansion into Florida in the company’s history.

Start of ferry service docked again
Bids for the operator of the ferry service planned for Pensacola Bay were in short supply and construction bids for the docks were limited as well, leading Gulf Islands National Seashore to hold off on starting up its service as planned in 2017.
