When disaster strikes, many forms of communication become useless.

The De Alencar family had been stationed in Navarre for only a couple of months when Army Staff Sgt. Mark De Alencar of the 7th Special Forces Group–the Green Berets–received his orders to go to Afghanistan. At the time, he and his wife, Natasha, and their six children were looking to buy their first home.

As the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council (TDC) continues to push toward prioritizing funding of physical tourism assets, some members of the council admitted a lack of firsthand knowledge of some existing tourism facilities.
