Business in Santa Rosa Industrial Park is booming. Two projects are expected to create more than 300 new jobs by early next year.

The Santa Rosa County Public Information Office has issued the county’s 2012-2013 annual report. The 50-page report highlights the yearly accomplishments of county commission departments and includes a wide variety of county-related statistics and information.

Aerospace giant Lockheed Martin recently asked the Santa Rosa County Office of Economic Development for help finding a suitable site in the county for hangar space.  Unfortunately, the county had to turn the company away.  Now a site in Okaloosa County is contending with another in Kentucky for the business.

The Pensacola Bay Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, which has been the Greater Pensacola Chamber’s tourism arm for 25 years, started off 2014 as a standalone entity directed by an 11-member board of local hospitality leaders and tourism professionals.

Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward is receiving praise for an 18-month effort to lure ST Aerospace to the 1400-acre Pensacola International Airport.  Lease negotiations are currently underway for plans which would bring at least 300 new jobs.  “It will be a game changer for the area,” said Shannon Ogletree, director of the Santa Rosa County Economic Development Office. 

The Navarre Area Board of Realtors will take sole possession of the Navarre Community Center, located on Navarre School Road, this year as discussions about building a new community center in Navarre are still underway.

To provide additional support for small and emerging businesses and budding entrepreneurs in Santa Rosa County, the Santa Rosa Economic Development Office (EDO) has partnered with the University of West Florida’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to offer a Certified Business Consultant for one-on-one consultation at the EDO’s Milton office.
