Website touts area industrial parks
Just like retail consumers who spend time online researching products, company real estate executives and site selection consultants also use the Internet during the early stages of their searches for new business locations. To capitalize on the trend, Gulf Power has launched an interactive website – floridafirstsites.com – which features 13 industrial properties in northwest Florida and four of them in Santa Rosa County.

Florida, local unemployment rates up
All area counties, as well as the State of Florida experienced increases in their unemployment rates from April to May 2014. Despite the increases, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties all sported jobless rates lower than the state and national averages, while Escambia County was only slightly higher.

Father’s Day spending to reach 12.5 billion
If you’re like most Americans, you might expect to spend around $113.80 on dad for Father’s Day June 14. That’s according to the National Retail Federation’s 2014 Father’s Day spending survey conducted by Prosper Insights and Analytics. Spending is expected to be down slightly from last year, totaling $12.5 billion.

The wait is over, Taco Bell reopens
Navarre’s Taco Bell was severely damaged by fire July xx, 2013, so local residents had to wait nearly a year to once enjoy the fast-food restaurant’s menu offerings. The new restaurant opened June 4 at 10 a.m., and it didn’t take long for local residents to find their way inside.
