Navarre Beach: Tsunami Ready Certified
In the unlikely event there is a tsunami, Santa Rosa County Emergency Management has completed a Tsunami Plan and completed a “table-top exercise,” according to Brad Baker, Director of Emergency Management for Santa Rosa County, in a memo addressed to the board of county commissioners.
Red tide detected in Northwest and Southwest Florida
Blooms of the Florida red tide organism, Karenia brevis, were detected last week along Bay and Gulf counties in Northwestern Florida and Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte and Lee counties in Southwest Florida.

Pilot and student make emergency landing near Navarre Beach
At approximately 10 a.m. Friday Oct. 30, a Cessna 172N registered to Hum’n Byrds Inc., made an emergency landing just west of Navarre Beach in Escambia County.

Busy lifeguard season set to end at Navarre Beach
It was a busier season than usual for the lifeguards on Navarre Beach but overall, the season, which ends Nov. 1, went well, according to utilities supervisor Terry Wallace.
