Throughout the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center (NBSTCC), there is project after project made possible by a volunteer. From the paintings on the walls to the educational displays, much of what is in the center was donated, and many of those projects were completed by local scouts as their Eagle Scout project.

Navarre Beach lost one of its most dedicated conservationists and advocates for sea turtles early this year.
The Board of County Commissioners voted Thursday to extend the Sea Turtle Lighting Retrofit project by six months to July 17 to allow for more of Navarre Beach’s condominiums and public lighting to be switched to turtle friendly versions.
After three years of waiting, the Gulf of Mexico’s only underwater live feed camera was installed this week at Navarre Beach’s artificial snorkel reef.
The leaseholders of 14 condominium units at Sugar Dunes on Navarre Beach will be allowed to pay the amended annual fee rate of $250 each, even though $180,000 remains due on the property, uncollected by the County since 1987.
