My name is Robert Orth and I am a local resident of Navarre, FL. I have called Navarre home all my life and lived here 29 years. I have seen the area grow from one grocery store and very little to no shopping available to four grocery stores and some good local shopping opportunities as well as some good restaurant choices preventing me from having to drive to Pensacola or Fort Walton to go out to eat. I have greatly appreciated the growth in my hometown and taking advantage of the opportunities to keep my dollars local. I am very excited for the new development to the East of Publix. There has been some commotion about changing the zoning of a parcel located in the middle of the Navarre Maritime Park on Navarre Beach. The developer is seeking to build a beautiful hotel, RV pads, a kayak and paddle board rental station, as well as a pool and club house. The parcel is currently zoned for a boat marina. I would much rather see a beautifully designed hotel and RV site than an eyesore of a marina in such a beautiful location. This will keep more of the local economy in the area, provide more tourism income, as well as create more jobs. I fully support the zoning change and encourage you to show your support as well by voting to change the zoning. Thank you for your time and I appreciate what you do for our local community. Have a great day!
