10/14 – Nature-Based Solutions for your Yard

Nature Based Solutions at the Neighborhood or site-scale practices manage rainwater where it falls to reduce stormwater runoff. They can often be built into a site or neighborhood without much extra space. Examples include permeable pavement, swales, rain gardens and more. Chris has worked as an environmental professional for 29 years. Duties have included research and education responsibilities. Currently, Chris works as the Santa Rosa County Environmental Resources Coordinator. Chris works with SRC county staff on various projects and grant development, including SRC Stormwater Solutions, coastal resiliency, SRC artificial reef projects, stormwater education, oyster shell recycling, living shorelines, land management and natural resource conservation. In addition, she has worked with wild oyster harvesters, commercial fishers to address local challenges in oyster habitat restoration.
