Raiders roll past Panthers in boys soccer

Navarre’s boys soccer team got back on track Monday night with an 8-0 win over county rival Milton at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.

The Raiders jumped out to a two-goal lead at halftime before putting the game out of reach in the second half.

Zack Gonzalez paved the way offensively, scoring three goals, and Zach Shealey tallied two goals. Joel Gumapas, Daniel de Souza and Morgan Richard all scored as well for the Raiders, who won for the sixth time in their last eight games.

Navarre stretched its win streak to two with the win and is now 8-5-3 overall. The Raiders improved to 6-3-3 in District 1-4A.

Monday’s game also served as senior night for Navarre and 13 seniors were recognized prior to the start of the game.

Gonzalez, Richard, Shealey, Gumapas, Zach Smith, Sam Golden, Oscar Amador, Mario Cruz, Austin Epstein, Charlie Orth, Jack Cassidy and Bailey Estep are the seniors on the Raiders’ roster.
