Santa Rosa County deputies arrest state law enforcement agent

According to a press release from the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s department, detectives with the Santa Rosa County Major Crimes Division made an arrest on Nov. 1 in reference to a sexual assault/battery investigation.

Charles Calvin “Chuck” McMullen, an agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement was charged with 2 counts of sexual assault/battery on a victim under 12, and 2 counts of lewd lascivious behavior, victim less than 12.

This case was presented to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office this past Friday, October 28, 2016. McMullen is currently in the Santa Rosa County Jail and is being held on a $1.5 million dollar bond.

After the initial reports, a woman contacted the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 3 after seeing initial reports of McMullen’s charges online. She stated she had lived near McMullen and her young son had been to McMullen’s home, even staying the night there.

The mother questioned her son, and the boy disclosed inappropriate situations involving McMullen. A follow-up interview was conducted with the victim by officers. Most of the details are stricken from the record, but officers charged McMullen with a third count of felony lewd and lascivious molestation of a child younger than 12 years old.

The case remains active and will be updated.
