Crawfish is back at Where Y’at

Looking for the freshest seafood on the Gulf Coast? Or maybe your craving some authentic New Orleans cuisine? Make your way on down to Where Y’at Seafood Market & Restaurant, where you can find local seafood sourced straight from our neighborhood and taste delicious food that will bring you back to Bourbon Street.

Where Y’at Seafood recently purchased their building and land, which they were originally renting. They are renovating little by little to make it their own. Their working project is a $50,000 construction project on the building. Where Y’at Seafood is becoming a permanent staple in Navarre.

Crawfish season is in full swing and Where Y’at carries the best crawfish on the Emerald Coast. Come taste for yourself. And the prices of crawfish are coming down. There was a late start to the crawfish season this year, due to the drought they had in Louisiana. But Where Y’at is happy to be the place to go for delicious crawfish in Navarre.

Jim Lindsey enjoys his fresh crawfish at Where Y’at Seafood.

The restaurant has partnered with local fishermen to provide their customers with the freshest seafood possible. You can now eat fish caught locally THAT DAY at Where Y’at Seafood.

Another option at Where Y’at is “Cook Your Catch.” After a long day of fishing, you can bring your fish directly to the restaurant and they will cook it for you for simply $8/person. Sides can be purchases a la carte to go along with your meal.

It is definitely a family affair, says owner Paul Ruiz. His sons, Courtney and Will Lumpkin, manage the place and handle the day-to-day operations of the business, which include the seafood market and the restaurant.

Plenty of fresh seafood items are available in the market, including red snapper, grouper, Alaskan halibut, tile fish, trigger fish and swordfish.

“The majority of our fresh seafood is fished locally from the Gulf of Mexico except for a few items such as fresh salmon from Faroe Island,” said Will Lumpkin who manages the market side of Where Y’at Seafood.

At the market, you’ll also find Florida fresh stone crab, frozen king crab, snow crab, Dungeness crab, smoked tuna dip, oysters from Apalachicola, Louisiana and Texas and fresh bay shrimp out of Pensacola Bay.

Everything about Where Y’at screams local. A best-seller is their big Royal Red shrimp. You can get the shrimp headless deveined or head-on. They also carry fresh Florida clams and scallops.

Blue crab season is almost ready to kick off. They source theirs from Mobile Bay and they are delicious. You can buy them live or pre-boiled.

Where Y’at offers catering for any type of party from weddings and rehearsal dinners to birthdays, retirements and office parties. They serve seafood boils with crab legs, shrimp and crawfish (when it’s in season), jambalaya, etouffee, gumbo and much more. Where Y’at can bring anything from their menu to your next party in bulk. Customize your catering orders by choosing your favorites a la carte.

Where Y’at also has a market inside their restaurant, where they sell fresh Grouper, Red Snapper, Tile Fish and #1 Yellow Fin Tuna.

Come check out their bar inside the restaurant, where you can get beer and wine. The large covered outdoor area can be used for parties and live music. There is also indoor seating at the restaurant.
